I Challenge You To Quote Me

Today has been one of the Mondays, you know the kind.  Classes officially start (we had syllabi last week but that doesn’t count), there was no hot water so I had a cold shower and I’m out of milk.  Also it’s raining.

I don’t know how that’s relevant, but for whatever reason it makes me want to challenge you.

So here goes, I challenge each of you to comment to this with your favorite quote.  It can be from anything.  You can even make it up on the spot.  I think it’ll be a great way for me to get to know some of you better.  Plus it’s fun.

If you decide to comment, thanks for participating, I really appreciate it in advance.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

I have two, one for goals and one for dealing with people… 1. “Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing.” Abraham Lincoln and 2. “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” Dr. Suess 🙂 Fun idea! 🙂

Ooh, I’ve got a good one. It applies to school, Kassie! And life in general, of course.
“The only way around is through.”
I wrote a short story with that title, actually.

I have a bazillion favorite quotes, but I’ll add one. (*BTW, I’m stealing this idea of asking for quotes! look at the engagement it got you!)

“The only purpose of education is to teach a student how to live his life- by developing his mind and equipping him to deal with reality. The training he needs is theoretical, i.e. conceptual. He has to be taught to think, to understand, to integrate, to prove. He has to be taught the essentials of the knowledge discovered in the past-and he has to be equipped to acquire further knowledge by his own effort.” —Ayn Rand

It’s what I tried to do as a teacher and what I wish schooling did these days.

    Thanks for sharing too!

      Go for it!

I love that one. I hadn’t heard it before and it’s amazing. Thank you so much for sharing it with me! You know how I feel about the education system, so that’s perfect!
